A week before the budget, Jigar writes in the Economic Times on how the situation actually is for the government.

A lot of discussions so far on the economy is great, tax collections beating estimates, etc., but how is the math adding up (and… we have look at numbers how accountants do, not how economists do).

He then juxtaposes that against the decisions of different countries (China, US) to operate in different times (the 1980s and now) across a wide policy spectrum.
