While all of us appreciate the importance of compounding in our portfolios, we often overlook how important beginnings are.

All of us have probably seen the impact of improving something by just 1% each day, but this week, we carry the discussion way forward – on to cosmos, to countries as well as to companies.

We conclude by extending the same argument to one’s investment philosophy. Whereas human minds are wired to store information in simplified formats, anything that is of consequence follows cycles – and we must be extremely conscious, right at the beginning about what we choose to believe in.
